Becoming an SGT Member

Distinguished scholarship or eminent professional attainment in Aerospace Engineering is the primary eligibility requirement for Sigma Gamma Tau.

Freshmen with at least 3.0, Sophomores with at least 3.1, Juniors with at least 3.2, Seniors with at least 3.3, and Graduate students with at least 3.75 GPA will be invited to join SGT.

Once you have been formally invited to join, you will be required to provide tutoring to other AE students for 30 hours per semester to maintain candidacy. Then in May of each year, SGT hosts the Formal Initiation Banquet to recognize new members. At that moment, you will be asked to pay the one-time national fee of $25 in order to become an official SGT member for life.

By recognizing this group of young aerospace engineers, Sigma Gamma Tau aims to identify those who will produce the future advancements of the profession.

Membership is also extended to professionals in the aerospace industry who have made significant contributions to the profession.
